A moulded ABS surface-mount panel with a single cavity that takes a standard 29mm accessory socket, USB outlet, volt meter or amp meter. It gives you a tidy, purpose-built face for one outlet or gauge instead of drilling a raw hole into a dash, camper wall or console face.

The housing sits on the surface with the socket recessed inside its walls, so the finished install looks like a factory switch panel rather than a loose accessory hanging on the trim. It suits 4WD dashboards, caravan side walls, camper drawers, boat bulkheads and any face where a single 12V or 24V accessory needs its own tidy mounting spot.

Fixes flush against the surface with two screws or with double-sided mounting tape. Screws and tape are not supplied, because the correct fixing depends on what you are mounting to. Wiring runs through the back of the cavity to the socket's own terminals.

Q: What does surface mount actually mean, and how is it different from flush mount?
Surface mount means the panel body sits on top of the mounting face. Only a small hole is needed behind the cavity for the socket wiring to pass through, not a full 29mm hole through the dash. Flush mount is the opposite: the socket drops into a 29mm hole cut through the panel and sits level with the surface, with no housing showing on the outside. This product is a surface-mount housing.

Q: What size socket fits this cavity?
A standard 29mm diameter accessory socket, USB outlet, volt meter or amp meter. Anything sold as a 29mm panel-mount 12V or 24V accessory drops in from the front. Older imperial-sized gauges (1-1/8 inch is close but not identical) can bind, so measure before ordering.

Q: Do I need to buy the socket separately?
Yes. The panel is the housing only. Any 29mm accessory socket, USB outlet, volt meter or amp meter drops in from the front. The compatible sockets are linked in the description above.

Q: What is it made of?
Moulded ABS plastic. Hard-wearing enough for a dash face, glovebox side, drawer end, camper wall or boat bulkhead. It is not designed for direct exhaust heat or outdoor mounting without a weatherproof socket in the cavity.

Q: How do I fix it to the surface?
Two screws through the mounting ears at each end, or double-sided mounting tape across the back if the surface will not take screws. Fixings are not supplied because the right screw or tape depends on the mounting surface.

Q: Is it weatherproof?
No. The housing is plain ABS with an open back, so it does not seal against water. If the install site sees rain, splash or dust, use a socket with its own weatherproof cover in the cavity and mount the panel on a face where water runs off rather than pools.

Q: When should I pick the single, dual or triple panel?
Match cavity count to the number of outlets needed in one spot. Single is for one accessory on its own. Dual is for two, typically a socket plus a volt meter. Triple is for three, typically two sockets plus a gauge, or a full row of USB, accessory and cig-plug.

Q: How much does it weigh?
About 130g on its own, before a socket is fitted. Light enough to hang off a small run of double-sided tape on a caravan wall, and light enough that the two mounting screws carry it comfortably on a dash face.

Q: What screws should I use to mount it?
Two short countersunk or pan-head self-tappers through the mounting ears, sized to the surface (roughly 3mm to 4mm shank, length short enough not to break through the back of the trim). If the surface is thin plastic trim, use tape instead so it does not crack.

Q: Can I mount it vertically or upside down?
Yes. The panel does not care about orientation. Practical concern: if the panel is oriented so that water or debris can fall into an open cavity, use a socket cover or a socket that keeps its own opening pointing sideways.
