A piggy-back tap that plugs into a spare standard blade fuse slot and gives you one extra fused accessory circuit off the vehicle's factory fuse box. Runs an extra dash cam, phone charger, UHF radio, LED light bar switch or fridge feed off a switched or constant-live circuit without cutting into the factory loom. Fits any 12V or 24V car, 4WD, ute, van, caravan or camper trailer that uses standard blade (ATO/ATC) fuses.

Pull the OEM fuse from a spare slot, push the tap's blade legs into that slot, then put the OEM fuse back into the tap's top position. A second standard blade fuse drops into the tap's lower position for the new accessory circuit. Rear output is a pigtail wire ready for a crimp or solder join to the accessory feed.

The OEM position keeps its factory rating; never up-rate it because the factory sized that circuit's wire for its original ceiling. Size the accessory position to the accessory's actual draw, not the top of the cable. Pick the slot deliberately: a constant-live slot (memory, hazards, interior light) drains the starter battery over a few days if the accessory doesn't switch itself off, so match switched vs constant to what the accessory needs.

Pairs with

Standard blade fuses (sold separately). You'll need one for the accessory position, plus spares.

Other sizes in the range

Same piggy-back design in the smaller fuse families. Pick the size that matches the vehicle's factory fuse box.

  • Piggy-back tap — plugs into a spare fuse slot
  • Keeps OEM circuit — factory fuse stays in the top slot
  • One extra output — pigtail wire to the accessory
  • Standard blade fit — ATO/ATC/ATS, 3A to 30A
  • 12V and 24V — rated to 32V DC per SAE J1284

12V and 24V vehicle systems (standard blade fuses rated to 32V DC)
Any spare standard-blade slot in the factory fuse box, pick switched vs constant-live to match your accessory
Not for 48V systems, needs a 58V-rated fuse holder
Not for loads above 30A, use an in-line holder wired direct to the battery for higher-current circuits

Q: What's a standard blade fuse (ATO/ATC)?
Standard blade, also called ATO, ATC, APR or Type III, is the most common automotive blade fuse family. It's the size you'll find in most factory fuse boxes and aftermarket accessory setups. Standard blade fuses meet SAE J1284 and ISO 8820-3, sit about 19mm wide, and are colour-coded by amperage.

Q: What amperage range does this holder take?
Standard blade fuses are available from 3A up to 30A industry-wide, so any standard blade fuse in that range fits this holder. Choose the amp rating to match the accessory's actual current draw, not the top of the cable's capacity.

Q: Is it waterproof?
No, this holder suits protected environments (inside a dash, fuse box or dry enclosure), not exposed engine-bay or marine installs. For a sealed inline holder that seats the fuse behind a screw-on waterproof cap, look at our weatherproof standard blade range instead.

Q: Can I use this on a 24V system?
Yes. Standard blade fuses are rated to 32V DC, which covers 12V and 24V systems. They're not rated for 48V systems, for those, use a 58V-rated fuse and holder.

Q: When should I pick standard blade over Mini or Micro2?
Match whatever the rest of the circuit uses. Standard blade is the biggest and most widely stocked, pick it if the factory fuse box or the accessory takes standard blades, or if you want the easiest fuse to replace on the road (every servo carries them). Pick Mini blade for newer vehicles that spec the smaller size to save panel space, or Micro2 for the tightest dash and loom spaces. The three sizes aren't interchangeable in the same holder.

Q: How do I mount it?
Run it inline in the loom, or fix it to a solid surface near the circuit it protects using screws or adhesive (fixings not included). Keep it accessible, the point of a fuse is that you can get to it when it blows.

Q: Does it come with a fuse?
No, fuses are sold separately so you can match the rating to your specific circuit. Grab the single amperage you need, or an assorted kit if you're wiring more than one accessory.

Q: Will a Mini or Micro2 fuse fit this holder?
No. Mini (ATM) and Micro2 fuses are smaller than standard blade and won't seat properly, using the wrong size risks a loose connection, intermittent power and a burnt terminal. Check what your circuit actually uses before ordering.

Q: How do I know if a standard blade fuse has blown?
Most standard blade fuses have a small clear window over the element, hold it to the light and look for a broken metal strip inside. If in doubt, test with a multimeter across the fuse terminals with the circuit live: a good fuse reads near zero resistance, a blown one reads open.
