Upgraded 240A Alternators for 4WDs in Perth

Modern touring builds run a bigger auxiliary battery bank than they used to — 200Ah of lithium is common. Recharging that bank on the drive between camps means the alternator has to deliver serious current on top of the vehicle's own loads. A factory 130A or 150A alternator can't do it. 240A is the sensible new baseline for a properly-fitted touring rig.

The Elevate BKS-240 kits ship with the alternator, the pulley (fixed or clutch to suit), and the vehicle-specific wiring upgrade. That last part matters — a 240A alternator on a factory-gauge wire loom will just overheat the wire and blow the fusible link. Our Elevate Alternator Upgrade Wiring Kits for DMAX 4JJ1, DMAX/BT-50 4JJ3, N70 Hilux 1KD-FTV and LC70 Series 2.8L 1GD-FTV are engineered for the extra current.

The Elevate BKS-240DMAX, BKS-240LC, BKS-240TP, BKS-240KUN and BKS-240GUN are our own branded 240A kits — built for the DMAX, LandCruiser, Prado, Hilux N70 and Hilux N80 respectively, with the wiring included. Jaylec Black Series is the alternator-only option we stock for a broader vehicle range — Nissan Patrol GU TD42T, DMAX 4JJ1/4JJ3, Prado, Hiace, LC76/78/79 with 1GD/2GDFTV, Hilux GUN Series, and even Chev/GM applications.

Some kits ship with a fixed pulley, others with a clutch pulley — the choice depends on the belt system and how much shock the accessory drive can take. Our N70 Hilux 1KD-FTV wiring kit ships with the required belt included. If you're not sure whether your vehicle needs the fixed or clutch pulley, ask us before you order — it matters, and the wrong one won't fit.
